Oncogenic role of LMP1 expression in Epstein-Barr virus associated with nasopharyngeal carcinoma: A literature review

چکیده
Nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) is a malignant that appears in the epithelial lining of nasopharyngeal mucosa. Genetic predisposition, environmental risk factors, nutritional and Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) infection are main factors for NPC. virus, human cancer-associated present more than 90% people worldwide. Latent Membrane Protein 1 (LMP1) has been identified as converting oncoprotein. LMP1 was shown to be NPC tumor tissues, suggesting potential role EBV-mediated carcinogenesis. exerts several oncogenic properties ability transform cells through activation numerous signaling pathways control expression different oncogenes tumor-suppressor genes. process by which traits such cell proliferation, apoptosis resistance, invasion motility, angiogenesis produced maintained.

The oncogenic role of Epstein–Barr virus‐encoded microRNAs in Epstein–Barr virus‐associated gastric carcinoma
Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) infection is detected in various epithelial malignancies, such as nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) and gastric cancer (GC). EBV comprises some unique molecular features and encodes viral genes and microRNAs (miRNAs) by its own DNA sequence. EBV genes are required to maintain latency and contribute to oncogenic property. miRNAs encoded by EBV have been shown to contribute ...
متن کاملClaudin expression profiles in Epstein-Barr virus-associated nasopharyngeal carcinoma.
Claudins are a family of proteins that are structural and functional components of tight junctions and have crucial roles in the maintenance of cellular arrangement, adhesion and paracellular transport. Recent studies have shown that changes and/or loss of claudin expression plays an important role in tumorigenesis and tumor progression, and altered expression of claudins has been reported in v...
متن کاملOncogenic effects of WNT5A in Epstein-Barr virus‑associated nasopharyngeal carcinoma.
The molecular events that drive the progression of Epstein-Barr virus (EBV)-associated nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) are still to be elucidated. Here, we report for the first time the pathogenic significance of an NPC-associated gene, wingless-type MMTV integration site family, member 5A (WNT5A) and the contribution of EBV to its expression. WNT5A is a representative Wnt protein that activates...
متن کاملEpstein-Barr virus transcription in nasopharyngeal carcinoma.
Sequences which encode Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) RNA in nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) tissue have been identified. We utilized human biopsy material directly as well as NPC grown in nude mice. Total RNA was extracted from the tumor material and separated into polyadenylated and nonpolyadenylated fractions by oligodeoxythymidylate-cellulose chromatography. This material was used as template to c...
متن کاملEpstein-Barr virus and nasopharyngeal carcinoma
Since its discovery 50 years ago, Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) has been linked to the development of cancers originating from both lymphoid and epithelial cells. Approximately 95% of the world's population sustains an asymptomatic, life-long infection with EBV. The virus persists in the memory B-cell pool of normal healthy individuals, and any disruption of this interaction results in virus-associa...
